Stocks end year higher near record top
The 1964 stock year closed with NCNB Index at 332.2 up 2.6 from the prior close, within one point of the all time high. Major averages joined the rise with Dow 874.13, AP 60 at 324.1, and S&P 500 at 84.75 as textile shares led gains and others mixed.
