Building Permits in High Point for 1919 Breaks Record
Fire Chief A. B. Horney issued 163 building permits in 1919, the highest total in any year, with an estimated building cost of about 66100 dollars. Permits covered 15 business erects and many dwellings, garages, and additions, including a 400000 dollar furniture exposition building and a 12000 dollar North Main street residence. Chief Horney predicts more permits in 1920 as the year opens strongly.
