FBI Furnished Chauffeurs For Dodd Ex Assistant Says
James P. Boyd, former assistant to Sen. Thomas J. Dodd, claims in the Saturday Evening Post that the FBI lent agents as chauffeurs and private detectives for Dodd in return for praise. He says agents drove Dodd on social calls in New York and sometimes tailed his staff. Boyd also recounts Dodd saying at the 1964 Democratic convention he would have left the ticket if nominated for vice president.

Governments Criticized For Failure To Enforce Anti-Discrimination Laws
In Columbus an agreement guaranteeing 140 jobs for Black workers on Ohio State University construction projects is hailed by NAACP leaders as a victory but viewed by others as evidence that federal and state governments fail to enforce anti discrimination laws. The NAACP says the federal division on contract compliance has not enforced a presidential order against racially biased hiring and relied on voluntary compliance. HEW officials say funds were withheld in May until the university agreed to hire minority workers, following a court ruling that state and university must ensure integration. University officials say attempts to implement the court order began promptly after the decision.
