Old Rings Out The New Year In High Point
The area welcomed 1964 with restrained celebrations as icy conditions kept crowds small. Youth groups held year end events at Wesley Memorial, Immaculate Heart of Mary hosted a dance breakfast at Holiday Inn, and venues like Colonial Country Club and Sedgefield offered music and dining to sparse crowds. A quiet, reflective New Year’s mood prevailed.
