New Year Gala at Local Clubs with Dinners and Dancing
Emerywood Club hosted over 200 guests to a color filled New Year celebration with dinner from 8:30 to 10:30, Buck Wuchae’s Orchestra playing 9 to 1, and a silver rose centerpiece. String And Splinter Club held a dinner dance with Frances Folger’s band, steak dinner, and 10 p.m. to 2 a.m. dancing. Sedgefield Country Club featured a gold theme banquet with roast beef and shrimp, champagne at midnight, and later sandwiches and coffee, drawing about 150 members and guests. The pattern notice for Marian Martin sewing patterns priced at fifty cents each appeared in the mix.
