New York report says 22 year old John F. Gebhardt of Erie Pennsylvania, a third year medical student at Cornell Medical College New York Hospital, and Laura Cross of Fayetteville New York, a 21 year old nurse, died after taking sedatives in separate rooms. Police found Gebhardt slumped in a residence hall booth, phone off the hook, and notes left by both. Detectives say both left suicide notes and had planned the acts together. Hospital officials note both were young and had divided time between two families. Miss Cross had studied at Syracuse University before training as a nurse 18 months ago.
