Britain asserts right to seize any class mail parcels
London reports official information to the Associated Press that Britain may seize any mailed parcels containing goods barred to Germany or allies under orders in council. First class postal letters on vessels stopped at sea are untouchable except by British municipal law when ships voluntarily call at British ports. Mail on ships that call at ports voluntarily falls under municipal law, allowing censorship to extend to such correspondence under wartime conditions.
