Dr. Gloria Scott, new national president of the Girl Scouts of the USA, visits Greensboro on March 7 for a program at St. Stephen United Church of Christ. A&T University professor and Tarheel Triad leader, she joins a choir of 60 and troops showcasing activities and a flag ceremony while honoring local community pioneers in Girl Scouting’s growth here.

Plans for World Day of Prayer include an adult service at Saint Paul United Presbyterian Church at 210 Fourth St on March 5 at 12 a.m. The children's program is at First Baptist Church 405 N Main St. The Nature Study Garden Club meets 10 a.m. with Mrs. Harold Cheek 964 Nottingham Rd. officers will be installed and an auction held with theme Fiesta of Faith. Proceeds support Church World Service UNICEF projects in Niger Malagasy Republic and Bolivia.
