All 300 residents escaped unharmed while 800 hospital staff firefighters and volunteers battled the fire for six hours to stop it from reaching the main hospital housing over 4200 patients. Damages were estimated at 170000 dollars.

Redlands Calif Feb 27 Officers studied a potential lead in the Charles Mattson kidnapping case from Tacoma Washington. Dan Early of Los Angeles said he saw a man named Frank with a boy in Seattle on January 6 discussing the kidnap. Charles was abducted December 27 and found January 11 near Everett.
Washington February 21 Dr Francis E Townsend asked for a new trial on a charge of contempt of the House. He was convicted Wednesday in federal district court. Sentencing cannot occur until the request is disposed of or retrial. Arguments on the request are expected to be heard Friday.
Pr-Mra. Alice Welch of Waynesville North Carolina files suit in Martinez against Frank G. Welch a wealthy real estate operator seeking separate maintenance and division of community property. They married in Waynesville in 1907 and have been separated since 1930.
The unclothed body of Bah Eugenio Peyriera Tradla was found in La Plata amid a national crime scare. The child, reportedly the son of a wealthy parent, showed no signs of violence.
