Kidnaping Charge Is Dropped In Raleigh Superior Court
In Raleigh two men pleaded guilty to assault inflicting serious injury after an altercation over a bounced $2 100 check tied to a used car purchase. Judge Susie Sharp allowed suspended sentences of eight and six months with five years probation plus $50 fines and costs.

Woman and 3 Children Escape Blazing Home
A four room rental at 112 Olga Street burned this morning around 11. Firemen battled dry timbers as flames roared from kitchen windows. Lucy Hairston and three children aged five four and two escaped with only the clothes on their backs. The house, condemned February 3 for fire and health hazards, owed by S. E. Miles of Brooklyn with C. W. Robinson as agent, must be rebuilt to meet city requirements.

Witnesses praised as fine citizens in kidnapping case
Two men in court this morning charged with kidnapping were allowed to plead guilty to a lesser offense.
