Army Bomber Crashes In Maryland Field
A two motor army bomber crashed in an open field near Bridgeport four miles south of Emmitsburg Maryland during a routine test flight. Both pilots parachuted to safety in high winds and were bruised but not seriously injured. Pilot Andre Deshane of Middletown Pennsylvania and co pilot Andrew Stevenson escaped the wreckage which was scattered over an acre. A farm witness reported the plane appeared to explode in midair before it hit the ground.
