Glamour Stocks Slump Hit Disney Kodak Merck and peers
Wall Street sees a January selloff in glamour stocks led by Disney Eastman Kodak Hewlett Packard Texas Instruments and Merck as investors shift to lower price earnings and higher yields. Dow leaders in gains included Chrysler United Technologies Alcoa and International Harvester, while dullers such as Kodak Union Carbide and Procter and Gamble lagged. The trend reflects broader caution after boom years and the impact of ERISA on pension fund diversification.
