Pacifists criticize handling of Vietnam prison release
Two pacifists Howard Zinn and Daniel Berrigan accuse U S authorities of inept and cold blooded action in releasing three American airmen held in North Vietnam. The men Norris Overly Jon Black and David Matheny were recovering at military hospitals after emotional reunions and planned a joint press conference about four to five months of captivity. Defense officials say the airmen chose military transport for speed and medical checkups, not to jeopardize other POWs.
