Embezzlement Case Ties Bank to West Kingston Trust
Richard L. Broome, a Slocum textile maker, is jailed as a witness in the Maude E. Tefft embezzlement case involving about 110000 from Kingston Trust Company. Tefft, 38, secretary treasurer, is also jailed. The bank is closed. Broome admitted borrowing 5101,000 from Tefft starting in fall 1923. He faces bond denial and awaits further action from Judge Watts.
