Fourteen Die as Tornado Hits Plantations Near Newellton
A twister struck four plantations south of Newellton in Tensas parish at 7:30 p m on Thursday killing fourteen people mostly African American and wounding about forty. The injured were taken to Natchez hospital while a Tallulah doctor treated thirty five at the scene before leaving. The storm leveled homes and struck with little warning.
