Miller to die in gas chamber for Beaufort County farmer death
Lafay ette Miller a 21 year old Negro is scheduled to die in Central Prison's gas chamber next Friday for the murder of farmer Harvey Boyd of Beaufort County. He was convicted in January 1952 of shooting the young Chocowinity man. A Thanksgiving Eve stop led to discovery of Boyd's wife in the car trunk evidence of kidnapping after the slaying.
