In Hyderabad thousands bow to Allah in a Jubilee for the Nizam awaiting the world’s richest man. The ruler, whose estimated annual income reaches $50,000,000, rides in a refurbished 26 year Rolls Royce through crowded streets as prayers and poems mark the celebration. The event was postponed last year due to King George V’s illness and a royal son’s death.
Police hunted for a suspect after 16 year old Elva Bran was ravished and strangled near Mountain Parkway. Walter M. Irvin stated an official line as authorities searched the area and Ridge High School reported the discovery of the victim’s books beside an ivy clump.

Mayor Albert R Bergstrom flew a private plane over farm country hoping to locate any trace and supported the theory that she was killed intentionally and her body disposed of by a motorist who had attacked another girl on the same road last week. The mayor suggested federal help might be sought to aid the case.

Agawam Massachusetts February 13 police arrested Eleanor Randall in Springfield's public library for the trunk slaying of her 23 month old daughter Frances. Officers tracked her to a library table where she was found reading a book. She would be arraigned in district court Monday on a murder charge.

He said no forced reductions are planned and the current rolls total 2150000 with 50000 more to be added for flood rehabilitation. He projected payroll would fall to 1600000 after reconstruction projects in Ohio and the Mississippi Valley are finished as 900000 had exited in the prior ten months.
Detroit February 13 John L Lewis said the General Motors strike settlement broke the united front of capital and predicted victory for his CIO committee when it presents demands to the steel industry He viewed a general strike as unlikely and urged rational handling of steel labor issues He compared William Green to an elderly lady with a wooden leg and dismissed AFL craft unions as having no current role in motor industry talks
Albany NY February 13 Christopher Miller a material witness in the O Connell kidnapping case hanged himself in Albany county jail His body was found suspended from overhead bars in his cell guards had inspected the material witness section only 35 minutes earlier Assistant district attorney Henry B Kahn said Miller had been linked to the 1933 abduction of John J O Connell Jr of Albany

Contending forces, which clashed in the diet on February 21, will move warily to avert a grave governmental crisis.
In Buffalo on February 13 a 29 year old waitress Miss Virginia Skolyn was attacked after rejecting a man in an automobile. She collapsed in a field at 4 a.m. the assailant opened a pocket knife and threatened her saying how’d you like to get what Mary Ellen Babcock got.

Washington Feb 13 An initial executive session of the Senate Foreign Relations Committee on permanent neutrality legislation yielded no fireworks amid an inconclusive discussion with state department spokesmen. Chairman Pittman said the committee would act at a very early date and scheduled another meeting for next Wednesday. Assistant Secretary Moore led the delegation as Pittman noted his bill was chosen for discussion though not necessarily endorsed.
In Anderson Indiana National guardsmen with bayonets fixed controlled early morning clashes between union and non union workers at Madison County. Troops patrolled streets while state police blocked to keep union supporters out of GM Delco Remy and Guide Lamp plants. Ten people were wounded and Gov Townsend placed the county under military rule.
