Washington AP report shows January wholesale prices up five tenths of a percent largely from farm products textiles and machinery. Cold weather effects on citrus vegetables and heating fuels not yet reflected as of Jan 11 with February likely to spike.

Governor Hunt has urged relief for propane users as FEA diverting supplies to homes and other states threatens up to 40 NC industries.
Anthony Kiritsis, 44, freed mortgage executive Richard Hall after a 63 hour siege in Indianapolis. Police say immunity offer was invalid. Kiritsis faces kidnapping and related counts after Hall was released and Kiritsis was captured. Hall survived with minor injuries. authorities found no real explosives.
Western utilities face near term tight power supply as drought halves hydro output and reservoirs run low. Eastern grids may spare power, but West Coast connections are weak. Officials warn no reserves and possible selective outages if demand spikes or equipment failures occur.
