In Carbondale near Scranton, two hundred or more men clashed with coal bootleggers. Thomas Hobbs and George Hobbs were rescued by police after being attacked while hauling coal. The Hobbs brothers were severely beaten. two others were stabbed in a knife fight between Frank Laizzi and James Behen. Police recovered revolvers, axes, hammers, and bats after detentions.
