Auto Dealers Fight Extension of Gasoline Tax
St Louis February 9 The National Automobile Dealers Association plans a fight in Congress to end the federal one cent per gallon gasoline tax. President F W A Vesper says the tax should expire June 30 and urges Congress to restore gasoline taxation to the states for road funding and maintenance. The association calls for the tax to be allowed to lapse and not reinstated, arguing it burdens motorists and diverts state funds.
