Edward Yates of Denton Killed in Auto Crash
Funeral for Edward Yates 20 of Denton set for Sunday at 2 p.m. at Oak Grove Methodist Church with burial in the church cemetery. He is survived by his mother Jennie Yates two brothers Harold and Val Yates and four sisters Mrs Travis Davis Mrs Vance Tyainger Mrs Lonnie Russell and Mrs Fred Russell. The body will lie in state at the home of Mrs Fred Russell until the service.

Veterans Add To Funds for VFW Cottage
A $435 check from the North Carolina Veterans Of Foreign War post supports a cottage fund for widows and orphans of VFW members. Rev C W Wallace of Lamberton presented the gift at the district meeting hosted by the High Point VFW post 619. Over 100 VFW members attend with district officers to meet and honor war dead in a memorial service at 11 am and a burial ritual demonstration at 2 pm.
