Country doctor finds seclusion in Bat Cave cabin
Dr. George Bond, famed Bat Cave physician and SEALAB innovator, lives in a remote Broad River cabin six days at a time. The Willoughby Ohio native and Mercy University graduate built the Valley Clinic and Hospital, saved lives in childbirth, and led SEALAB I research before returning to quiet seclusion to write memoirs and dreams of future dives. Bond recalls midlife voyages, from antivenoms to Navy duty, while neighbors and friends visit for his last days of winter reflection.
