Harry Williamson will speak on roses when the Bogweed Garden Club meets Wednesday at 2 p.m. at the home of Mrs J Robert Connor 513 Rockspring Rd. Mrs Ross Caudell will be associate hostess. The Dogwood Club is High Point's newest garden club.
The Catesby Bird Club will meet each evening at 13 at Eshelman 905 Sauda vi. Mrs J J Edwards as assistant will be given host and hostess duties with Mr and Mrs Eshelman. They will use can ed slides on birds with calling prompts as part of their program.
The North Carolina Federation of Women's Clubs hosts former General Federation president Oscar A Ahlgren as guest speaker for an Americanism program on Preservation of Our American Heritage at Raleigh. Ra leigh club leaders invite federation officials district and club presidents and members nationwide to attend.
ACE and PTA schedule a joint meeting at Tomlinson School featuring Dr. H. J. Hickes, director of special education in Charlotte, recognized leader in the field. The session stresses aiding handicapped children in public schools and encourages full PTA attendance. Members may count the meeting as a study course toward standard organizational requirements.
Union Hill Demonstration Club members meet at 10 a.m. Wednesday at Jamestown Route 1 residence hosted by Mrs. Frank Howard. Mrs. L H Mathews leads the program titled Being Better Dress at Lower Cost.
Mrs D A Rawley will entertain the Twentieth Study Club at her home 1002 Johnson on Wednesday at 12 30 pm. Mrs Risch will speak on the Westward Movement and Mrs Fountain on the Period of Conflict as part of American History Through Historical Novels. Dessert features baked pear halves with meringue and custard sauce.
