Pinehurst officer convicted in Jackson Mortgage case

Frederic N. Boswell president of Pinehurst Mortgage & Loan Corp was convicted on federal fraud charges linked to the now defunct Jackson Mortgage & Loan Co A federal jury found Boswell Emmett Herndon and David Nichols guilty of conspiracy to commit fraud and mail fraud Boswell also convicted of wire fraud He resigned from Pinehurst Mortgage pending clearance The Jackson firm operated about six months before state closure in July 1974

Four Killed In Ohio By Train Collision

WAUSEON Ohio four Penn Central crewmen died and two injured when two freight trains collided on parallel tracks near Wauseon about 35 miles west of Toledo. Fire from diesel engines hindered recovery while two injured were treated at Fulton County Health Center in fair condition.
