Mr. and Mrs. J. D. Martin hosted a dinner at Edgedale Drive in Hoover for Mrs. Martin's aunt and uncle Mr. and Mrs. W. A. Farlow. The event honored Mr. and Mrs. Farlow with gifts, a Tar Heel award, and notes of travel as they await the completion of their new home in March at the Sheraton Hotel.
The High Point Council of Garden Clubs named an advisory board for the Garden Council Flower Show era. Members include Mesdames John C. Sheloff C B Mattocks Thag West Chest er C Haworth Homer T E W Heelas and Miss Effie Cox. A meeting at 8 PM Monday will review the board and committees at the local YWCA. The flower show will be held in April at the YWCA instead of the YMCA.
Founder's Day marked by tea at Mrs. W J Kiser home and a WCTU program. Frances Willard portrait framed the event as about 40 members gathered with light refreshments and a brief talk on the founder.
The Union Hill PTA met for a February meeting with Mrs. Nees McGee in charge. J M Booker led devotionals and Mr Sellars from the Guilford County Health Department spoke on health services and showed the film Mr Williams Wakes Up. Parents were urged to seek health department help and ensure proper child care.
The Woman's Wesley Class of Main St Methodist Church will gather Thursday night at 7:30 in the church basement with Mrs Hoyt Harris' group hosting. The Wesleyan Service Guild of Ward St Methodist Church plans to meet with Mrs James O Scotten Thursday evening for Dr. related matters.
The High Point Greensboro Sigma Chi Alumni Association will hold its next monthly meeting Saturday at 6:30 PM at Bliss Restaurant in Greensboro.
