Riverside California February 2 AP District Attorney Albert Ford prepared to investigate the validity of Alma Rubens marriage to Ricardo Cortez after a Los Angeles divorce record showed an interlocutory decree in Daniel Goodman case not finalized until February 6 1925. Cortez said both believed she was legally free to marry as she waited the required period.

Child Dies After Auto Collision at Grimes and West Green

Four and a half year old Abner Cress Jr. was struck by a Ford touring car driven by J R Yarborough at West Green Street near Grimes. Police ruled the death unavoidable. Yarborough reported braking but could not avoid the child who darted into the street. The accident injured the boy and was followed by funeral arrangements for the Kentucky-born family.
