Youngster Treated After Car Accident Near Beaucrest Drive
Randy Wayne Gibson, 11, of Eastchester Drive, was taken to High Point Memorial Hospital after being hit at 4:25 p.m. on N. Centennial Street near Beaucrest Drive. Driver James Burnell McLemore, 38, said the boy darted into the path of the car. Randall Bryant Miler, 15, of Old Winston Road, was slightly injured at 5:18 p.m. when his motorcycle hit a car backing from a parking space on N. Main Street. the car was operated by Cornelia Meredi Lohr of Gordon Road.

Liberty Men Cleared Of Charges In Beating Death Case
In Asheboro two Liberty men, George David Bryant and Phillip Richard Tuttle, were cleared of murder charges in the May 29 death of Clarence Oaks Jr at Tom's Place. Jon Michael Bryant and Cecil Ray Bailey were sentenced to 10 to 15 years for voluntary manslaughter.
