Marijuana studies downplay harm from chronic use
A Costa Rica based study and other research presented last week suggest heavy long term marijuana use causes no clear damage to body or brain function. Researchers noted some sleep and appetite effects and argued chronic cannabis use does not prevent normal functioning or productivity. The Costa Rican study involved 41 male workers averaging 96 cigarettes daily, with most maintaining jobs and showing no motivation loss.
