Researchers Work On Liquid Coal At New Mexico Tech
In Socorro New Mexico Tech researchers study turning underground bituminous coal into petroleum. President Dr Stirling A Colgate says underground liquefaction could bypass above ground reactors and greatly reduce mining hazards. An 80160 grant from the New Mexico Legislature funds initial computer stress field analyses and lab dissolution tests.
