Government to enforce mica purchase order in North Carolina

Washington reports a stiffly contested mica purchase order will take effect Monday ending most mining in North Carolina. Rolla P. Stovall, acting chief of the War Production Board mica division, says the order will stand as drawn after consultations with officials. North Carolina's combined 1944 spring and fall pig crops are estimated at 1 478 000 head, 22 percent below last year's record 1 902 000.
