Sheriff Pushes for Full Sized Cars in Guilford County
Guilford County Sheriff Paul Gibson urged the board to continue buying full sized patrol cars noting crowded conditions when transporting patients to the state hospital at Butner and that officers feel safer in larger vehicles. He said the county may switch to middle sized cars for 24 patrol units, though full sized units remain available and the larger option could be cheaper overall due to maintenance savings. The board will also review Rural Guilford Community Development areas and hold a hearing on a northern water line assessment.
