Oakwood Acres residents to use Denton Tel service
A 50 resident group in Oakwood Acres near Denton must use Denton Telephone Co. for service after the North Carolina State Utilities Commission denied Lexington Telephone Co.’s bid to serve the area. Commissioner Tom Eller dissented saying Denton lacks a certificate of public convenience and necessity. The majority cited that a line on a map should not force service beyond existing facilities. Eller warned some residents would lose telephone service if forced to accept Denton’s.
