A 38 year old construction worker was arrested on charges of breaking and entering and grand larceny in the Gaston County safe theft case. Firemen Return In Carolinas

South ern Railway reports all striking firemen returned to work in North and South Carolina. The one day walkout disrupted operations across 13 states and the District of Columbia until a federal restraining order halted the strike. About 1,200 firemen, part of 16,000 employees, protested eliminations of firemen from some runs causing freight and mail delays.
