Wise Men from the East and the Bethlehem Star
The article recounts the biblical tale of wise men seeking the newborn king in Bethlehem, their gifts of gold frankincense and myrrh, and the star that guided them. It links Herod’s rule to Rome, notes Bethlehem’s modest status, and touches on Matthew the apostle and the Magi’s possible origins in Chaldea.
