Increased Gas Levy In Tax Recommendations
The North Carolina state tax commission urges Governor Gardner and the 1931 general assembly to repeal county road taxes and shift road maintenance to the state highway commission. It backs a one cent gasoline tax hike and removal of refunds to raise about six million dollars annually for highway upkeep.
