King sees Nixon loss risk for GOP if nominated

Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. argues Republicans would lose the Negro vote and the presidency if Nixon or Reagan were the nominees, while Rockefeller could win a majority of Black voters. He predicts Rockefeller would split Negro and labor votes, but says Nixon and Reagan could not carry the Black vote against Johnson. He envisions a massive spring movement to pressure Congress for jobs and urban renewal, urging Johnson to crusade for urban elimination of blight and guaranteed income.
