Bond sales drive Davidson County total reaches seventy five thousand

Special to The Enterprise reports Davidson County chairman Walter W. Rapp announced December sales of War Savings bonds and stamps totaling 75,739.50 in the first half of December toward a 141,000 quota. Local outlets included Commercial Bank of Lexington 22,687.50, First National Bank of Thomasville 22,670.75, Industrial Bank of Lexington 11,312.50, postmasters at Lexington and Thomasville, Mutual Building & Loan Thomasville 3,412.50, Carolina Bank & Trust Denton 2,193.735, postmasters at Denton and Erlanger, Peoples Building & Loan Thomasville 131.52, Erlanger postmaster 93.75, totalling 75,739.50.

Labor unrest over missing time cards at Republic plant

Workers reported for 3 p m yesterday on an old schedule but found time cards unavailable causing the 3 p m shift to remain out. The issue recurred last Sunday and prior, with Stack noting Republic refused to deduct 10 percent for war bonds. The company offered a flat weekly deduction instead.

Robbery report of locker theft at Asia restaurant

Paul Alexander, 22, of 138 Underhill Drive, reported a theft from a locker room at Asia restaurant, 120 North Main Street. Items missing include a self winding silver wrist watch and band valued at 15, a silk shirt 2, a tan raincoat 7.50, a brown cap 1.25, and a cotton shirt 1.95. The watch and a dollar bill were taken from his coat. No warrant issued yet.

Funeral Rites for Infant James Harper Crouch

Funeral for Mrs Abbie Harwell at Fairmont Park Church
