Holiday Auto Crash Injures Six Near City
Six people were injured near Thomasville on the High Point Thomasville highway in a crash that left two in serious condition. L. C. Chaney and an unidentified man were at High Point hospital. Mr. and Mrs. Hudson, E. Slater, and another man were treated locally or held for investigation. The Hudson car rear ended the Chevrolet, sending the smaller car down an embankment.

Louise Huff Dies at Home After Week Long Illness
Louise Huff 12 daughter of Mr. and Mrs. J. B. Huff of 205 Turner Street died at midnight after a week of illness. Survived by twin brother Louis and sister Dorothy, she was a junior high student and a member of Lebanon Methodist Protestant Church. Funeral plans not yet set, likely Monday afternoon.

Negro Watchmen Wounded by White Burglars at Laundry
Two colored night watchmen Thomas McCorkle and his son George were shot by four unidentified white men at the New Service Laundry on Centennial Avenue near Washington Street just before 2 am. Thomas suffered gunshot wounds to the left arm chest and right arm while George was hit in the arm. They returned fire but could not confirm hits. Both were treated at High Point hospital and were not seriously injured.

The High Point Exposition building houses about four thousand toys for needy children. Firemen remade discarded toys into new ones with help from Pittsburgh Plate Glass and Marietta Paint. Two Auto Accidents Here Last Night at Hit and Run
Two automobile crashes occurred on local streets causing serious injuries. Annabelle Houston, a Black woman, was knocked unconscious and rushed to High Point hospital with a possible skull fracture. Charles Geith, elderly city mail carrier, was also struck by a hit-and-run driver on Main street. he survived but with facial injuries.

Man Fleeing From Cops Crashes After High Speed Escape
A man identified as W. B. Brodson fled from police during a suspected drunken driving arrest. His car overturned at the Dennis Street and Woodrow Avenue intersection, injuring passenger John Nalls who was taken to a hospital by Sechrest ambulance. Police say Brodson accelerated, hit a tree causing the door to fly off as Officer Hoover attempted to board.
