Telephone service under attack by planning flaws and staff shortages
Ryan cites delays in order fulfillment from coordination gaps between developers and telco crews. The main issue is recruiting and retaining operators as turnover soars in large NC cities like Charlotte Raleigh Greensboro. Bell plans 86 million dollars in North Carolina capital, predicting 170000 mainlines this year with 48 hour installation for most orders, though new apartment booms cause longer waits as seen in Charlotte.

Inter state 95 opening eyed in North Carolina
A Boone area report details a Christmas time broadcast about a California woman losing her pocketbook with 800 dollars inside on U.S. 321 near Granite Falls and how the Carolina highway commission planned a one and a half mile addition to Lenoir area traffic impact. No final date was given, but a contract target next Wednesday night was noted, with 2500 attendees at Boone for a related event.
