With the first city volleyball tournament ending, enthusiasm surges for a new series. Edgar Hartley of the YMCA reports overwhelming demand for continuation. Participants exceed fifty players with many schoolboys and girls in non schedule games. Outdoor play in cold weather tempered skill but boosted interest. gymnasium courts at the new YMCA building will refine the game.
Mr Hartley will work out plans this week for continuing out of doors volley ball as weather allows. A list of regularly participating players is compiled including Night Owls, Lucky Dogs, Tigers, Greenbacks, Faculty, Bellhops, and All stars with names such as Raper, Welch, Bacon, Frazier, Thurber, Grimes, Johnston, Jones, Chilton and others.
Richmond fans await the February 14 revival of the University of Richmond invitation games the region’s top indoor event last held in 1924. Invitations were sent to leading colleges and schools across Virginia North Carolina and Maryland to compete for individual and team honors in the 34000 seat collegiate meet to be staged in the coliseum.

Dr E K McLarty says J B Duke plans a large education and charity gift to Trinity College Durham but will not dictate college policy. The Wesley Memorial pastor, Trinity alumnus, notes Duke lacks knowledge of fund dispensing details and intends a hands off approach.
