Three Persons Believed Out Of Danger After Boat SOS

Three men aboard the 75 foot motorboat SS Hunt Brothers were reported out of danger by Coast Guard at Norfolk Virginia. The craft lay in shallow water near Onancock inside the first beacon on Chesapeake Bay with a bow hole threatening to sink it. Named aboard were Milton Wilson Guy West and Nelson Read. A Coast Guard rescue ship and the Cutter Violet were en route as the vessel threatened to beach three miles south of Tangier Island.

Priests Convicted in Plot Against Czechoslovakia

In Prague three leaders of the Greek Catholic church were sentenced to life imprisonment for plotting against the republic. Rev Sebastian Sabol, provincial of the Greek Catholic monastery, was among those convicted. An AP report corrected an earlier misidentification of defendants as Greek Orthodox.

A Philadelphia housewife said a letter from Defense Secretary James Forrestal eased her fears about a secret police force.
