Mehan Charges Error In Revenue Figures
City councilman Floyd Mehan charged that High Point officials erred in revenue estimates from purchasing Duke Power lines and rate reductions. He warned a $6 million revenue loss over 20 years, despite a $150,000 annual saving for residents and a goal to equalize rates with annexed areas.

Culler elected to International North American YMCAs Committee
Robert A. Culler of High Point was elected to the International Committee of the North American YMCAs for a three year term. Nominated at Kannapolis meetings, he serves with Greensboro’s Joan A. Four youths including Charles Wade Poindexter 17 of Asheboro Moir Taylor Hutchins 21 of Winston-Salem James Ray Swaney 17 of Asheboro and John Frank Bullins 19 of Asheboro face malicious damage to property charges after an attempted break‑in at Archdale Oil Co on S Main Street. They admitted other Randolph County drink machine break-ins. Bond set at 50 each for Poindexter Hutchins and Swaney and 25 for Bullins. Also three worthless check charges filed against James H Willis 22 of Carrick Street with total bond 75.

Combined Choirs To Sing Messiah At Christmas Service
Wesley Memorial Methodist Church will present the Christmas portion of Handel Messiah at the 11 a.m. service. The 130 voice combined choirs, directed by W. Howard Coble, feature solos by Betty Sue Johnson and George Clark with guest soloist Gene Wilson. Additional performers include Paul Hickfang and a roster of local musicians, as the choir renders arias and recitatives from And the Glory of the Lord to He Shall Feed His Flock.
