Woman Spends Night Trapped In Wreckage

Loretta Dunn, 56, survived a crash near Morris Illinois after her car slid into an eight foot ditch and overturned. She was trapped in subzero cold from 10 p.m. Sunday until dawn when milk driver Arthur Tortter found her. She suffered shock exposure and possible leg fractures but was expected to keep fingers and toes.

Farmers voted to continue federal production and marketing controls on upland and extra long staple cotton rice and flue cured tobacco. After 14 hours of talks French Foreign Minister Maurice Couve de Murville admitted France was isolated as Britain threatened a trade war if the Common Market expands to include ECOE members. Fire guts buildings at Wilson

A Wilson North Carolina fire gutted three buildings in the business district early today forcing 60 to 70 residents to evacuate into sub freezing weather. The structures housed the Employment Security Commission office an Army Navy surplus store and the Acme Candy Co. No one was injured though main power lines were destroyed cutting electricity in a wide area. Some residents were left heatless as the apartments above the buildings were evacuated. Fire companies all responded and no damage estimate was given. Walls collapsed and smoke may have damaged nearby properties.

Train Hits Woman At Thomasville Rail Crossing

Cleo Bullard of Carmall Street was struck by a southbound passenger train at the Randolph Street crossing in Thomasville around 11 30 a m. She was rushed to City Memorial Hospital with severe head and leg injuries. A Lexington man witnessed the accident. Bullard, a South Carolina resident visiting Thomasville for about two months, was the injured party.
