Randolph County Sheriff Lloyd Brown charged operator Dolan Fields with possession of 487 books containing four lottery tickets each valued at 2235 dollars. Fields also faces two counts of selling lottery tickets to undercover agents on Dec 7 and Dec 14 while John Cornelius Brown faced charges for possession of pornographic materials. Bonds were set at 600 dollars for Fields and 200 dollars for Brown.

Bergland 42 Dies After Brief Illness at High Point Memorial
Arthur Nelson Bergland aged 42 of 1213 Fifth Street died Saturday night at High Point Memorial Hospital after a brief illness. Born in New Castle Pennsylvania February 31 1926 he was son of Axel N Bergland and Anna Nelson Bergland. He studied at Carnegie Tech and the Wharton School of Finance and was personnel director of Flotators Inc in High Point. Surviving are four sisters Mrs Horace Shotts Youngstown Ohio Mrs Alfred H Owens Mrs Robert K Wilson and Mrs Frank C Miller all of New Castle. Body to be taken to Leyden Tanner Mortuary in New Castle for funeral and burial.
