Mississippian Receives Nation's Highest Award
Washington AP MSgt. Hubert L. Lee of Leland Mississippi received the Congressional Medal of Honor for leading his platoon in six banzai charges against a Communist held hill in Korea. Wounded in both legs and the back he continued directing the assault until the hill was captured. Lee, 36, a 13 year Army veteran, is with the 1st Artillery Training Group at Fort Sill Oklahoma.

Kids 2 and 3 Die In City Apartment Fire
A fire swept through an apartment, killing two small children under a bed. Duane Hogue aged 3 and Dennis Hogue aged 2 died. their brother James, 5, was seriously burned and hospitalized. Their mother, Mrs. J B Hogue, received minor burns and shock. Police say the children were likely asleep when the blaze started.
