N C Motorists Face Hearing Back Home
North Carolina motorists convicted outside the state on traffic counts will face hearings in state. Commissioner Landon Rosser said under reciprocal agreements names of North Carolinians convicted elsewhere are furnished the department. Motorists would be called before the commission to show cause why licenses should not be revoked in North Carolina. The policy aims to avoid legal technicalities after a Supreme Court reversal held a driver convicted elsewhere had not been convicted in North Carolina and thus license must be returned.
