Radiographers admit falsifying X rays on Alaskan pipeline
Radiographers working for Alyeska on the Trans Alaska pipeline testified before a House subcommittee that up to 200 X rays of defective double joint welds were faked. The scheme, reported after 200 un-repaired pipes were strung along the 800 mile line, could cost hundreds of millions and delay opening slated for mid-1977.

Kissinger Plan Rejected in Rhodesia Deadlock
In London Saturday a direct British role in Rhodesia during the transition to black majority rule is discussed as a possible solution to the Geneva deadlock. Joshua Nkomo urged immediate majority power transfer rather than interim power sharing.
