A string of Garden Club gatherings, DAR and YWCA activities, Christmas parties, and wedding rehearsals are scheduled through the week. Notable items include Alpha Rho Beta Phi meeting at Mrs. Graham’s, Pioneer Comet No. 52 Christmas party at Commerce St hall, and multiple garden clubs hosting Christmas programs and luncheons.
The Southeastern Council of the General Federation of Women’s Clubs led by Mrs. Chester E. Martin outlines a February 2 or 1955 conference at the Henry Grady Hotel Atlanta. Presidents from multiple states plan to attend and discuss council work, conservation, and opportunities for women in public affairs.
The Friday Morning Music Study Club at Mrs. Charles F. Tomlinson's home presented "Christmas Carols from Many Lands" with Mrs. Marvin Slate in charge. An octet from the senior high sang foreign carols including Patapan and an Indian carol, followed by Coventry singing and a Robert Shaw Chorale/Columbia Choir program. Three new members and two visitors were welcomed, and the group adjourned to a Woman's Club luncheon.
The High Point Garden Club will meet Tuesday at 12 noon for luncheon and a Christmas party hosted by Mrs. C. C. Garrett at Rockford Road. Associate hostesses are Mrs. D. R. Parker and Mrs. Joseph Weaver. Members are asked to note the changed meeting hour.
Mrs C N Cox will read No Roomin on Inn to members of the Friendly Garden Club at a meeting Thursday afternoon at 2 oclock with Mrs J J Hayes 515 Rotary Dr. Mrs C F Hayes will be associate hostess.
