High Point Man Killed In Auto Bus Wreck
Roy Arnold Medlin 53 of 1100 Smith St was killed when his 1941 car was struck broadside by a Queen City Trailways bus at Montlieu and Centennial Avenues at 6 45 this morning. The bus driver Parker Blair Danns 27 of Charlotte said the car entered on Centennial as the bus on Montlieu had a green light. Police noted the tachograph showed 35 mph before entry and about 24 mph at impact. Medlin was pinned by the frame and wreckage. no charges will be filed as the wreck is deemed unavoidable. Survived by wife Alice Ward Medlin, one son, three sisters, one brother and one grandchild. Funeral arrangements set for Monday at Welch Memorial Methodist Church Oakwood Cemetery in High Point.
