Worker Tells Of Marion Shooting At McDowell Trial
Rom Minish, Marion cotton mill striker, testified in the trial of eight McDowell county deputy sheriffs charged with murder for the October 2 shooting at Marion Manufacturing. He described about 125 people at the gate, tear gas, and the crowd dispersing as officers fired. He said three old men carried sticks and named Samuel Vickers George Jonas and a third man. He denied hearing calls to shoot the sheriff or that the sheriff urged workers to stay back. C. L. Moody testified next.

New York December 11. Henry Grew Crosby 32 and Mrs. Josephine Rothh Bigelow 22 were found shot to death in an artist studio on West 67th Street in what police call a death by own action pact. No notes were left. Crosby had recently returned from Paris and was linked to J. P. Morgan’s family. Bigelow had married Albert S. Bigelow in June. The studio belonged to Stanley Mortimer Jr. who said Crosby used the apartment when in New York. Police note Crosby and Bigelow spent time abroad and had connections to Boston society.

Warden Seized by Mutinous Prisoners at Auburn
At Auburn state prison a riot by long term convicts led to the death of Principal Keeper George A. Durnford and two other inmates. Warden Edgar S.
